The best corsets for waist training are ones that can suck you in, in all the right places and give you a killer figure you could only have dreamed would come after hours spent slogging it at the gym. Corsets are a girls’ best friend, but there’s one pretty tricky factor you need to master before you can really start to enjoy them and that’s the lacing side of things. Yep, if you’re wondering just how exactly you lace yourself into a corset without asking for someone else to help you, you’ve come to the right place. Read on to discover how…

best corsets waist training

First things first, when you unwrap your corset for the first time you need to make sure it’s been laced properly. The best corsets for waist training always feature super-long and strong corset cord but shop staff can often lace them up incorrectly. You need to make sure that you can see X’s on the inner and outer surfaces of the corset. Furthermore, when you tighten your corset these X’s shouldn’t end up between the layers of the fabric when they’re firmly laced. If X’s do end up between the fabrics we’re pretty certain you’ll feel it – because this is how you get skin pinching. Ouch!

Now it’s time to count the number of eyelets on your corset and check where the middle of the corset is – this should lie close to where your waistline sits. As you lace your corset up once you reach the central eyelets you need to leave a lengthy bit of corset cord on either side (this is so you can tighten it once you’re in). Leave the lengthy bit in the middle – and make sure you don’t pull it through – and then continue to thread your corset cord until you reach the end. Once you’re done, make sure the laces lie on the outer surface of your corset and then tie a knot in either end of the corset cord.

Now you need to check that the corset cord is pulled tight enough to allow you to do your corset up at the front, but not so loose that is just hangs off you. Aim for a gap of approximately 2-3 inches between the panels at the back and you should be on the right tracks.

Put your corset on and start at the top. Do it up using the hook and eye fastenings and make sure you ensure your bust is comfortable. Once you’ve fastened the front have a little stretch – you need to make sure you can reach round to tie the cord at the back. If it is too tight, simply take off your corset and loosen the cord at the problem areas. Put your corset back on and try again. Do this until you’re happy that you’ve got it just right.

Now’s the time to sort out those big lengths of corset cord you left dangling at the back. Yeah you thought we’d forgotten about them didn’t you?! Not so. Simply tug on these big loops until you’ve got your corset tied to your desired tension, then just tie an old-fashioned and super-simple knot and bow with these lengths of cord.

You’re done – nearly. All that’s left to do now is have a bit of a move about. Underbust corset sale are all about sucking you in, in all the right places but you still need to be able to move. If you feel super-restricted try loosening the central loops and see if that helps. Once you’re happy all you need to do to get out is loosen the central loops at the back and unfasten at the front. Et voila! Every time you want to wear your corset you’re ready to go because the lace has been tightened just how you like it.

So who ever said putting on a corset solo was a total impossibility? Just follow these simple tips and you’ll be laced up and looking gorgeous in no time.

So what is it?

Steampunk, quite simply, is Victorian Science Fiction. It’s a term that has nothing to do with ‘punk’ but quite a lot to do with ‘steam’. Get the Body you’ve Always Dreamed of with a Corset

corset underbust steel boned
Corsets are back, and that’s a fact. Forget those images in your head of Victorian women squeezing themselves into tight-fitting corsets whilst wearing full-length dresses and dainty little boots. Yes all that did happen, and corsets were super-popular in the Victorian days, but they’re having a moment – again. Actually, let’s face it, it’s a little longer than a moment. With celebrities using them to shift post-baby weight, and specialist corset blogs springing up all over the internet, it’s clear for all to see that corsets are where it’s at. If you’re looking for ways to get the body you’ve always dreamed of, it’s time to consider investing in a corset with underbust and steel boned features for instance. Here’s why…

Corsets are a great way of ‘training’ your body into the shape you crave. But when we talk about corsets, we’re referring to the properly-constructed corsets made from quality fabrics and materials. Fashion corsets can look great for a night out or a one-off occasion, but they just won’t cut it on the waist-training front.

A corset underbust steel boned facets will help you to create your ideal silhouette – especially if you wear it on a regular basis. For example, once you’ve broken your corset in (by this, we mean wear it over a period of two weeks and gradually tighten the lace – don’t just jump right in and tighten it to the max the first day you step into it), you can use it everyday should you wish. Some corset wearers wear theirs for hours on end – and have even been known to sleep in them. Other corset wearers swear by wearing their corset before, during, and after a meal. By doing this they ‘fool’ their body into not wanting to eat too much – and when this is done regularly, the stomach shrinks and becomes fuller quicker, thus ensuring you cut down on calories.

Wearing a corset should never be seen as a chore – in fact many women claim it is a total pleasure, and that wearing their corset makes them feel like they’re getting a constant hug. Corsets straighten your posture, suck your waist in, and – as everyone knows – when you walk tall, you talk tall. Simply by wearing a corset you can boost your confidence so you can get out there and follow your dreams (as well as enjoy a more streamlined body).

Coupled with a healthy diet, some regular exercise, and a positive mental attitude, introducing a corset into your life can reap numerous benefits. Whether you’re looking to get in shape for a particular special event in your life, or you just want to carve a healthy new lifestyle, a well-made and constructed corset could help you achieve those dreams. Just remember, to always make sure you buy a corset that has been properly made using quality materials and boning that is steel. Plastic bones belong in fashion corsets – not in corsets that will help you change your shape. Happy corseting!
